THE ANATOMY OF A SESSION

Each of the five sessions consist of the following 4 sections – each taking approximately 3 hours.  The goal of each session is to move beyond learning principles of truth to directly applying those truths to each individual man’s life.   Here is the anatomy of a session.

60 minutes – Teaching Time
This time focuses on a biblical perspective on a key aspect of manhood.  Though the teaching has a practical aspect to it, the focus is on communicating principles that will then be applied in the Facilitation and Breakout times.

15 minutes – Personal Biblical Review
Men will spend 15 minutes reviewing key biblical passages on the session topic(s) – these passages may or may not be highlighted in the teaching time.

45-60 minutes – Facilitation
Working from the biblical principles and passages, men will interact in small groups.  The focus will be on practical application in building a roadmap to restoring/strengthening biblical manhood.  By the end of facilitation, men will add a specific action item in a Roadmap notebook.  Facilitation will take place in small groups of 8-12 men, preferably grouped together by region.

45-60 minutes – Open Space Breakouts
We anticipate that the teaching and interaction will spark a desire to tackle more specific topics than those covered in the teaching and facilitation times.  Therefore, we will provide an "open space" environment where both those leading and those participating in the Boot Camp can request and/or lead breakout sessions on topics of interest.  Those leading the breakouts will have latitude on how much they teach/preach versus facilitating interaction.  Men will have the freedom to come and go as they choose during this time.  We encourage men to document actions on their Roadmap. [Note:  There will be NO breakout session with Session 5 – we will have a time of open sharing among men – much as we do in our Sunday worship at Southwest Wake Christian Assembly.]
